Wellington Research Now Online
3 December 2013
Research about Wellington has a new home on our website where Wellingtonians can see and use the information free of charge.
The Rugby Sevens boosts the Capital’s economy
The research and data pages have been set up so that research commissioned for a particular Council project - or produced in association with other organisations such as universities and research institutes - can be used by other people.
Research and Data
Reports already available include:
- students and alcohol
- the costs of physical inactivity
- the city’s Green Star-rated buildings
- local driving habits
- Wellington’s economy
- mapping streams
- regional amenities
- the Rugby Sevens.
Bridget Duley, the Council’s Research and Evaluation Team Leader, says by sharing information and using it for more than one purpose, the Council and city will get better value for money.
“We hope some of the research will be of use to local businesses or community organisations, and other researchers will re-look at data and findings to gain further insights that will benefit the city in some way.”
