This year the winners in the Otari-Wilton’s Bush Photo Competition were judged in three categories and there was also a People’s Choice winner selected through Facebook voting.

They are:

  • Plant portrait - Sally Lees
  • Otari photo - Fraser Punt
  • Young person’s photo - Ben De Boeck
  • People’s Choice - Aurélie Aubertin

Each category winner receives a $100 voucher from Wellington Photographic Supplies, a copy of the Field Guide to New Zealand Native Trees by John Dawson and Rob Lucas (courtesy of Otari-Wilton’s Bush Trust) and a bowl carved out of wood sourced from Otari-Wilton’s Bush. The People’s Choice winner receives a bowl carved out of Otari wood and a selection of native plants.

The entries were judged by Ann Shelton, Senior Lecturer in Photography at Massey University; Jeremy Rolfe, Technical Advisor Flora at the Department of Conservation; and City Council photographer Justine Hall.
