But it’s not just books that are on offer - there are also loads of DVDs, CDs and magazines. Stocks are replenished at regular intervals to keep the bargains coming so you never know what you might discover - a lost childhood gem, crazy craft books, or that blockbuster you’re dying to see again.

The sale helps us make way for new items in our ever increasing collection. Prices start at 50 cents for magazines, adult and young adult/teen fiction, with most other items between $1 and $6.

So if you fancy a good rummage, join the throngs of readers and film and music buffs at the Central Library - doors open at 9.30am.

Don’t forget that our libraries are also online. We’ve got a huge range of downloadable audio and ebooks, storytime videos, online newspapers, databases and catalogues - and you can learn a language with Mango Languages. Visit wcl.govt.nz and plan ahead for the holidays.
