Governance Review 2012

The Council has commissioned a review of its Council Controlled Organisations (CCOs).

The review looked at the overall CCO governance model, and if the current arrangements for each of the CCOs are still 'fit for purpose'.

The overall review, done by Plimmer Consulting, was carried out in three parts.

The reports:

  • reviewed current practice for arms length entities used in local and central government in New Zealand and overseas
  • examined whether the current governance arrangements are 'fit for purpose'
  • considered a range of alternative governance structures
  • identified opportunities for enhancing current practices to better align them with the Council's objectives for Wellington
