  • Ships and Trees
    Sunday 17 August, 11.00am

    Hear the fascinating story of sea travel, and learn about trees that made it possible.
    Meet at the Duck Pond for this easy 90-minute walk.

  • Bunya, Birch, Beverages and Bark
    Monday 25 August, 10.00am

    For 10 intriguing tree-tales and a moderate to energetic 90-minute walk, meet at the Cable Car entrance.

  • Plants of Asia
    Sunday 21 September, 11.00am

    See the plants and find out how their history and cultivation affect our lives today.
    Meet at the Founders' Entrance, Glenmore Street for this moderate 60- to 90-minute walk.

Glow-worm Tours

Bring a torch to join us on a night-time trip into the fascinating world of the glow-worm. This is a gentle 60-minute walk but reasonable mobility is required.

Cost:  Adults - $5.00
Children under 12 are free.

Glow-worm tours meet at the Founders' Entrance (main gates, Glenmore Street).

Tours are scheduled for:

  • Friday 5 September, 7.30pm
  • Friday 3 October, 8.00pm
  • Friday 10 October, 8.00pm

Spring Festival 2008 at the Botanic Garden will begin on 28 September.

The colourful two-week spring celebration will coincide with the third term school holidays. It begins with Tulip Sunday on Sunday 28 September, and finishes on Sunday 12 October.
