The Love Food Hate Waste website is a great resource for all New Zealanders to use, with recipes, tools, tips, techniques, events, news and much more. You can also sign up to the newsletter and join the Facebook page.
Along with other Councils in the Wellington region, we're proud to be part of the national Love Food Hate Waste NZ campaign, which aims to turn this problem around. Love Food Hate Waste informs, inspires and enables Wellingtonians to waste less food.
We’re partnering with organisations, community groups and food waste champions to deliver food waste workshops. We’re also getting out and about across the Wellington Region with our Love Food Hate Waste stand at market days and events throughout 2016 and 2017. If you see us, please come and say 'Hi'. We’ll have information for you to take away, giveaways, competitions with great prizes, and you’ll be able to have a spin on our awesome 'bicycle blender', courtesy of the guys at Bicycle Junction.
Kiwi families throw out 79 kilos of food every year
Love Food Hate Waste is targeting household food waste. The Wellington region has a wide range of food champions, community groups and organisations working on different aspects of the food waste problem, from restaurants to supermarkets to growers. Our strategy for Wellington is to work with a wide range of these groups and organisations to help deliver the Love Food Hate Waste message.
