Lakewood Reserve

This pleasant community reserve has a small stream flowing through it. The stream is bridged in several places.

Location: Churton Park

Entrance and exit points: Halswater Drive opposite the Churton Park play area, Lakewood Avenue, and at two points on Westchester Drive.

Brief description: Lakewood Reserve lies in a wide gully overlooked by neighbouring houses.

The area is planted predominantly with toetoe and flax, but also has large grassed areas with seats that provide a quiet place to sit. The surrounding hills have been planted with natives.

Parking: Parking on street.

Accessibility: Well-formed paths descend at a gentle gradient to the gully.

Dogs: Dogs must be kept on a leash.

Features: The reserve is next to tennis courts and close to the Churton Park playground and dog exercise area.

Mountain biking:  Permitted.
