The Otari-Wilton's Bush Trust runs monthly walks for members and visitors.
Walks are free to Trust members, and cost $3 for visitors.
2pm, Sunday 26 October
Join us on this walk alongside the stream to the Karori Cemetery, up to the Skyline, then back via the Flax Clearing. We’ll see various items of interest along the way, including the tombstone of Harry McNish and his cat (of Shackleton's Antarctic voyage). This relaxed 6km long walk starts at the Information Centre. It will take up to three hours so a moderate level of fitness is desirable.
Mosses, liverworts and lichens
2pm, Sunday 23 November
Join us on the Nature Walk to see some of the smaller plants that thrive in Otari. Learn why these non-vascular plants used to be called cryptogams, and be introduced to a few of them by name on this two-hour walk. Bring a magnifying glass if you have one – otherwise we have a few for you to use. There are steps so wear good shoes. Meet at the Information Centre.
