This Thursday at 9.00pm, the Pelorus Trust Sky Show will have an extra five minutes of fabulous fireworks - nearly 20 minutes in total. The fireworks will be launched from two barges and boats from Wellington harbour. More than 150,000 spectators are expected to gather, and we're going to repeat the traffic controls in place last year. If you're taking the bus, check the Metlink website or call 0800 801 700 for details of any diversions. A great way to kick off the evening is to come down to the waterfront early and enjoy the Ride of Your Life spectacle from 6.00pm. There will be carnival rides, food stalls and music, with proceeds going to the Wellington Free Ambulance. For postponement details and to hear the show synced to its soundtrack, tune into Classic Hits 90FM. And please leave your own fireworks at home - leave it to the professionals.
