A by-election was held on Saturday 21 November 2009 to fill a vacancy on the Tawa Community Board.

Malcolm Sparrow was elected to the vacancy.

Final Results

The Board has eight members - six of whom are elected, and two Northern Ward Councillors appointed by the Wellington City Council.

All resident electors and non-resident ratepayer electors whose names were on the electoral roll in the Tawa Community Board area were eligible to vote in this by-election.

The election was held using the Single Transferable Voting system.
