The Council can help you access free or reasonably-priced hire equipment if you are organising a Wellington community programme or event.

Display units

Nine folding, free-standing screens.

Size:

Screen 2m high; two panels to a screen, each panel 1m wide.

The fabric on the screens is Velcro receptive. You can use pins to secure items. Good for displaying art, notices for meetings and brochures.

Borrower is responsible for transporting the screens.

Cost:

Free for community groups.

Trailer stage: 6m wide x 5m deep x 0.9m high

Sound system:
Includes microphones, corded and cordless powered speakers, fold-back monitor, mixer, CD and iPod player. Must be hired with a Council-approved technician.

Community event billboard & banner sites

The Wellington Railway Station billboard and Jervois Quay overbridge are available for use for promoting community events. Over 400 street banner sites are also available for approved major events.

Cost:

Site use is free for:

  • events organised by community groups
  • events organised by the Council
  • events with which the Council is strategically-aligned.
